About The Position

St. Catherine of Siena Nursing and Rehabilitation and St. Catherine of Siena Hospital are proud members of Catholic Health and have served the residents of the Smithtown area for more than 50 years. St. Catherine's is located on the north shore of Long Island in Smithtown. The campus is comprised of a 240-bed nursing and rehabilitation care center; 296-bed not-for-profit community hospital and a 60,000 square foot medical office building. Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved school of Physical Therapy.
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Must have, or be eligible for, State Licensure or registration.
  • License must be obtained within 1 year.
  • Previous experience preferred; will train new graduates.
  • Position is strenuous requiring handling, positioning, and manipulation of patients requiring physical therapy.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to staff members, management peers, hospital administration.
  • Ability to bend, stretch, reach, and handle physical therapy equipment.
  • Must be able to lift and position patients.
  • Knowledge of all equipment used in the rehabilitation of physically impaired patients.
  • Ability to use hospital information system.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overall direction, utilization, supervision, instruction, and evaluation of professional and supportive staff and students in the physical therapy department/facility.
