About The Position

The Physical Therapist (PT) is an important member of our interdisciplinary team, providing direct clinical services within Swedish Pain Services (SPS). This includes working in both our outpatient Functional Restoration Center and our hospital-based Pain Management Suite. The SPS Functional Restoration Center offers comprehensive outpatient pain management through an interdisciplinary approach. Our services include behavioral health, physical and occupational therapy, and structured Functional Restoration Programs (SFRP). These structured programs include: Individual and group physical and occupational therapy Behavioral health support (cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness training) Relaxation training Aerobic exercise Nursing education On-site pain medicine provided by our therapy team Program sessions run 4–5 hours per day, 3 days per week, for 4 weeks, with opportunities for additional follow‑up and long‑term care. Requirements

  • A graduate of an accredited program of physical therapy
  • Washington state physical therapy license, or temporary permit
  • Upon hire: Washington Physical Therapist License
  • Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
  • Strong understanding of bio psychosocial model of chronic pain
  • Ability to learn and/or integrate the latest concepts of Pain Neuroscience Education into treatment plans
  • Strong orthopedic background
  • Highly developed interpersonal, and counseling skills required
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple demands and projects
  • Ability to work with a diverse patient and staff population
  • Ability to work effectively with groups
  • Ability to develop cooperative relationships with families, patients, physicians and other health care professionals within and outside Swedish
  • Ability to work in different settings as required by system needs

Nice To Haves

  • Pain Neuroscience continuing education or certification as therapeutic pain specialist
  • Graduation from accredited DPT program
  • Experience in ortho, neuro, cancer, cardiac or other designated specialty populations based on campus needs
  • Experience treating chronic pain
