Physical Therapist (P.T.) Acute Care PRN

· Work location\: Texas Health Ft. Worth, 1301 Pennsylvania Avenue, Ft. Worth, TX 76104

· Physical Therapy department Work hours\: PRN\: On an as needed basis, coverage between Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM, with some weekends and holidays. W eekend requirements\: 4 weekend days every quarter required, 1 holiday per year. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree completion of a Physical Therapist program required.
• PT - Physical Therapist Texas - Physical Therapy License Upon Hire Required
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Problem-solving ability, Ability to teach others and Time management skills.
• Good interpersonal and customer service skills, Basic leadership skills

Nice To Haves

• Acute care experience preferred, but New Grads are welcome!
• Geriatric Clinical Specialists (ABPTS)
• Orthopedic Clinical Specialists (ABPTS)
• Wound Management Clinical Specialist (ABPTS)
• Certified lymphedema therapists
• Certified hand therapists

Responsibilities

• Performs age-appropriate patient assessment and establishes plan of care.
• Performs treatment procedures/techniques that are within the scope of the professional license.
• Educates patient and family through instruction, demonstration, and/or appropriate handouts in treatment plan, safety issues, home programs/self-management and assistive equipment.
• Initiates therapy discharge planning in collaboration with care team and patient based on prognosis and expected discharge disposition.
• Attends and/or leads hospital, department, and community meetings / educational in-services.
• Strong commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration
