About The Position

The Physical Therapist - Outpatient at Physical Rehab Weirton OP, RHB1, plays a critical role in delivering high-quality rehabilitative care to patients recovering from injury, surgery, or managing chronic conditions. This position focuses on evaluating patients' physical capabilities, developing personalized treatment plans, and implementing therapeutic interventions to improve mobility, reduce pain, and enhance overall function. The therapist collaborates closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care and optimal patient outcomes. Additionally, the role involves educating patients and their families on exercises, injury prevention, and wellness strategies to support long-term health. Ultimately, this position aims to restore patients' independence and improve their quality of life through evidence-based outpatient physical therapy services.

Requirements

  • Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) in the state of practice.
  • Graduation from an accredited physical therapy program with a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent degree.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of outpatient physical therapy practices and rehabilitation techniques.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills to ensure compliance and effective patient care.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in an outpatient rehabilitation setting.
  • Specialty certifications such as Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) or Neurologic Clinical Specialist (NCS).
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems used in outpatient therapy clinics.
  • Additional training in manual therapy or specialized therapeutic modalities.
  • Experience with patient education and wellness program development.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments to evaluate physical condition, functional limitations, and rehabilitation needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient goals, clinical findings, and best practice guidelines.
  • Provide hands-on therapy, including manual techniques, therapeutic exercises, and modalities to facilitate recovery.
  • Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and document outcomes accurately in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, injury prevention, and strategies to maintain physical health.
  • Collaborate with physicians, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and optimize treatment effectiveness.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized treatment environment adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
