Requirements

  • Valid Physical Therapy license in the state(s) of practice, or proof of license and eligibility.
  • Master's degree in Physical Therapy; or a Master's degree in a Physical Therapy related field plus a Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy; or a Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy plus 5 years of progressively responsible PT experience.
  • Availability to travel to and temporarily reside in locations outside of the therapist's primary home.
  • Physical Therapy degree earned outside of the U.S. must be evaluated to be the U.S. equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Travel nationwide for 13 week assignments as a Physical Therapist - Journey Traveler.
  • Assess the need for, develop, and deliver physical therapy programs to facilitate rehabilitation.
  • Identify the need for and make referrals to other disciplines to address the comprehensive needs of patients.
  • Implement individualized therapy programs designed to restore, reinforce, and enhance performance.
  • Instruct, educate, and train patients and caregivers in skills and functions essential for promoting independence and productivity.
  • Direct activities to promote and maintain health.
  • Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants, temporary licensees, students, and support personnel as necessary.
  • Ensure effective and efficient delivery of rehab services and adherence to established plans of care.
  • Attend and contribute to patient care, staffing conferences, and other related meetings.
  • Consult with other members of the rehabilitation team to select appropriate therapeutic regimens.
  • Adapt programs and/or plans of care according to individual patient needs.
  • Promote a safe environment and enforce the elimination of fire and safety hazards.
  • Order supplies and equipment as necessary.
  • Maintain, identify, and report the need for repair of equipment.
  • Ensure patients and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring atmosphere.
  • Screen, examine, and evaluate patients to establish a diagnosis and design a plan of care.
  • Develop treatment goals and methods in collaboration with patients and caregivers.
  • Implement the physical therapy treatment plan and complete all related documentation.
  • Perform routine reexaminations as needed to modify/progress the plan of treatment.
