Facility Highlights & Growth: 80-bed inpatient rehab hospital: A regional referral center offering intensive, personalized care for patients recovering from stroke, brain injury, amputation, spinal cord injury, and more. New Blue Ridge Wing: A recent 8.8 million expansion added 12 private patient rooms and enhanced visitor accommodations—showcasing the hospital's commitment to comfort and healing. Multidisciplinary care: Staffed by board-certified rehab physicians, nurses, case managers, and therapists working together to deliver holistic recovery plans. Standouts in therapy - robust orientation - over 50 therapists whose experience ranges from 1yr post to 35+ years of experience. Young Stroke Program in Development, LVAD Program in Development, MedBridge for full-time and part-time employees. Facility and Innovation - 3 BITS devices (one mobile), Bioness, Car Transfer Simulator, Simulated Grocery experience in development, 2 working ADL kitchens, laundry, 3 ADL training baths with tubs and stalls, Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallow capability coming 2026.

Requirements

  • Licensed Physical Therapist (LPT) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Bachelor's Degree.

Responsibilities

  • Provide evaluations and treatment interventions within the scope of practice established by law and professional code of ethics.
  • Assess and evaluate therapeutic/rehabilitative/functional status and participate in the development of the total plan of care.
  • Provide purposeful and skilled therapeutic care using procedures and techniques to produce a change in condition/function consistent with the physician's plan of care.
  • Instruct patient/family/caregiver in the use of therapies, exercises, therapeutic appliances, and/or prosthetic devices to be used outside of therapy sessions.
  • Prioritize caseload, determine daily staffing needs and coordinate assignments/handoffs.
