Day - 10 Hour (United States of America) Ortho/Neuro population. Adolescent to geriatric Job Summary Assesses patients and establishes appropriate treatment plan based upon diagnosis and professional standards. Provides appropriate treatment of patients using specific modalities and treatment techniques. Accurately documents treatments and care of patients and communicates with other team members. Participates in individual and department continuous improvement and education activities. May be asked to perform other duties as assigned. Direct patient care, including the assessment and treatment of patients, developing and carrying out individually designed treatment programs. Performs and documents an initial evaluation, interprets data to identify problems, and determines functional limitations prior to intervention. Performs ongoing documentation in the patient medical record with functional limitations, goals and appropriate timelines Communicate with referring Physician to obtain certification of plan of care and document as appropriate. Includes the patient/caregiver in treatment process, evaluation of effectiveness and discharge as necessary. Evaluates the effectiveness of treatment at various stages and makes adjustments to achieve maximum benefit or discharges when treatment no long needed Ensures patient education, proper fit and use for assistive devices as necessary. Supervises PTA, PSM Aide, students and volunteers as the clinical schedule dictates Participates in team and hospital wide meetings, committees and initiatives as assigned Assists with department finances with accurate daily billing practices, active daily maintenance of patient care schedule. Employee must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the C-I-CARE Standards of the Hospital. Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in physical therapy from an accredited university.
2 years of experience preferred.
Current license to practice Physical Therapy in the state of California or be eligible to apply.
Current American Heart Association BLS Certification
Good physical condition, which requires moderate lifting of equipment and patients.
Ability to work flexible schedules and varying locations as assigned
Strong verbal and written English communication skills with the ability to communicate across all levels of the hospital and departments
Strong organization
Strong time management ability
Problem solver and critical thinker with the ability to anticipate possible issues
Strong computer skills
Self-initiative
Knowledge of Medicare documentation standards
Knowledge of hospital safety, quality and joint commission standards
Knowledge of standard medical abbreviations for documentation
