About The Position

The Physical Therapist I/II / Advanced Physical Therapist I/II position serves to provide quality physical therapy services to a predominately Native American population for the treatment or prevention of physical disability or disease. Responsible for management and implementation of Physical Therapy program; provision of physical therapy evaluation and treatment of inpatients (regular work week, and weekend rotation) and outpatients, ages ranging from birth through geriatric; provision of specialty services such as wound care, prosthetic and orthotic clinic, geriatric clinic, high school clinic, functional clinic, spinal cord clinic, assistive technology/adaptive equipment evaluation/treatment, Durable Medical Equipment Prosthetic Orthotic Supply Program; assumes direction and development of the physical therapy section to include continuing quality improvement, risk management and safety, physical therapy policies and procedures; Joint Commission preparation, staff education, reporting, staff meeting and in-service, and other duties. Responsibilities also include that listed on the Medical Staff Credentialing Core Privileges form.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a CAPTE accredited school of Physical Therapy.
  • Valid, current, full and unrestricted license in any state within the United States.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Credentialed to serve on the Medical Staff.
  • For Physical Therapist II: Minimum of one (1) year experience as a licensed Physical Therapist.
  • For Advanced Physical Therapist I: Minimum of four (4) years' experience as a licensed Physical Therapist.
  • For Advanced Physical Therapist II: Minimum of five (5) years' experience as a licensed Physical Therapist and/or APTA Board Certification Specialist.

  • Ability to work in an organized, efficient manner with attention to detail.
  • Time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Experience in a busy physical therapy clinic.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality physical therapy services to a predominately Native American population.
  • Manage and implement the Physical Therapy program.
  • Evaluate and treat inpatients and outpatients of all ages.
  • Provide specialty services such as wound care and prosthetic/orthotic clinics.
  • Assume direction and development of the physical therapy section.
  • Participate in continuing quality improvement and risk management.
  • Prepare for Joint Commission and conduct staff education.
  • Complete electronic health records data entry pertinent to patient service role.
  • Ensure proper PPE is worn while on duty.
  • Participate in clinical research efforts and assist in specialty clinics.
