About The Position
The Physical Therapist I position at MyMichigan Health in Chesaning, Michigan, is a full-time role focused on delivering high-quality patient care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation in accordance with physical therapy standards and physician orders. This role involves delegating responsibilities to Physical Therapist Assistants and Aides, ensuring that patient care is prioritized and aligned with governing policies and procedures. The therapist will evaluate patients' functions through formal and informal testing measures to assess their skeletal, neurological, respiratory, and cardiovascular status. Based on these evaluations, the therapist will develop specific treatment regimes tailored to each patient's needs and tolerance levels, ensuring that all treatment plans are documented and updated as necessary. In addition to direct patient care, the Physical Therapist I will educate patients, families, and caregivers about their conditions, treatment options, and the rationale behind chosen interventions. This includes providing guidance on exercises, modalities, and other therapeutic techniques. The therapist will also supervise Physical Therapist Assistants, Aides, and students, ensuring compliance with affiliate and regulatory standards. Documentation is a critical aspect of this role, as the therapist must accurately record patient responses to treatment and any changes in their condition, adhering to affiliate policies and regulatory requirements. The position also involves promoting physical therapy services within the MyMichigan Health network and the surrounding community, participating in educational initiatives, and contributing to program development and process improvement. The therapist will function as a case manager for assigned patients, demonstrating a commitment to the mission of MyMichigan Health through exceptional customer service and teamwork. Maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment, is essential in this role. The therapist is expected to engage in ongoing learning opportunities to enhance their skills and knowledge in the field of physical therapy.
