Part-Time Physical Therapist; 16 hours per week We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist /Occupational Therapist/Speech Language Pathologist to join our multidisciplinary team in providing care for patients with facial paralysis. This is a unique opportunity to work in close collaboration with physicians and advanced practice providers specializing in Otolaryngology (ENT) and Facial Plastic Surgery. The position will be provided hands on training for 6-12 weeks on Monday, Tuesday, and/or Wednesday with our skilled physical therapist in facial paralysis. After training is complete, the days will change when opening up a template of the provider's own patients. Job Summary Summary Assist patients in reaching maximum physical performance while adjusting to disabilities. Restores Patient Physical Functioning by interpreting physical therapy evaluations and test results; determining physical therapy treatment goals and plans; administering manual exercises; instructing, encouraging, and assisting patients in performing physical activities and in using assistive and supportive devices.

Requirements

  • Licensed Therapist (PT) in MA.
  • Strong interest in or prior experience with neuromuscular rehabilitation.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to learn and develop expertise in facial rehabilitation techniques.
  • Graduation from an accredited physical therapy program is required. For licensure prior to 2016, a bachelor's or master's degree is acceptable; licensure from 2016 onward requires completion of a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program.
  • Bachelor's Degree Physical Therapy required or Master's Degree Physical Therapy preferred or Doctor of Physical Therapy Physical Therapy preferred
  • Physical Therapist [State License] - Generic - HR Only required
  • Experience completing internship or apprenticeship program
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record systems.
  • Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
  • Teaching others how to do something.
  • Excellent problem solving, case management and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Class D Passenger Vehicle Driver's License [State License] - Generic - HR Only preferred
  • Experience 1-2 years preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment for patients with facial paralysis.
  • Collaborate closely with MDs and APPs to coordinate individualized care plans.
  • Participate in case discussions and multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Contribute to ongoing learning and development within this highly specialized area of rehabilitation.
  • Completes billing sheet accurately by end of day.
  • Evaluates effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit.
  • Performs patient assessment and establishes a plan of care.
  • Provides in-service education programs for nursing personnel as needed.
  • Identifies and documents goals, anticipated progress, and plans for reevaluation.
  • Discusses evaluation, goals and treatment with both patient and family.
  • Participates in Hospital-wide quality process improvement.
  • Evaluates effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit.
  • Supervises PTAs according to organization policy and state regulations.
