About The Position

The Physical Therapist DPT/SCD (LPT) is responsible for evaluating, planning, educating, utilizing exercises and physical therapy modalities in the treatment and rehabilitative of persons who have medical problems, health related conditions, or a developmental disability that limits their ability to move or perform functional activities. Physical Therapist also help prevent conditions associated with loss of mobility and promote the ability to move, reduce pain, restore function, and prevent disability to help individuals achieve healthy and active lifestyles. Some travel may be required in the provision of services between facilities and job functions. This position summary contains the most relevant duties, responsibilities and does not exclude other assignments not mentioned.

Requirements

• Must be a graduate of a Doctoral program in Physical Therapy.
• Licensure in the State of Texas as Physical Therapist is required, or a valid temporary Physical Therapy license for the State of Texas.
• Must have and maintain current BCLS certification.
• Clinical experience preferred.
• Membership in a professional organization preferred.
• Demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS’s Compliance Program and Code of Conduct.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients' physical abilities and limitations.
• Plan and implement physical therapy treatment programs.
• Educate patients and their families about treatment plans and exercises.
• Utilize physical therapy modalities in treatment.
• Help prevent conditions associated with loss of mobility.
• Promote the ability to move, reduce pain, restore function, and prevent disability.
• Travel to facilities as needed to provide services.
