About The Position

The Physical Therapist (PT) at Carilion Clinic will be responsible for confirming and interpreting physician referrals, performing patient assessments, and planning and implementing individualized treatment programs. This role requires consideration of the patient’s developmental and/or chronological age and medical diagnoses, in accordance with the regulations governing the principles and practice of Physical Therapy. The position is full-time at CNRVMC Rehab, with a sign-on bonus eligible up to $20,000. Requirements

• Graduate of an approved school of Physical Therapy.
• Bachelor's degree as Physical Therapist and 5 years of experience, OR Master's or Doctorate degree required.
• Licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia by the Virginia Board of Physical Therapy.
• Effective interpersonal, communication, customer service, and teamwork skills required.
• BLS-certified (from a Carilion approved program) within six months of employment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in site-specific level of care preferred but not required.
• For Home Health positions, one year of clinical experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care based upon physician referral and age-appropriate assessment.
• Coordinates patient care and clinical activities through communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Documents in the patient’s medical record and completes other patient care-related forms in compliance with regulatory agencies and hospital policies.
• Supervises PTAs and collaborates with other therapy staff to achieve efficient clinical activity and quality patient care.
• Participates in departmental/professional activities including in-services, performance improvement, and staff meetings.
• Delivers excellent customer service and patient care, demonstrating respect and empathy in all encounters.
