About The Position

As a Physical Therapist in the Children’s Day Program, you will be an essential part of an interdisciplinary team focused on achieving optimal outcomes for DDI's students. Responsibilities include providing all aspects of Physical Therapy services to an assigned caseload, which encompasses direct services, screenings, assessments, evaluations, and completing all necessary documentation.

Requirements

Licensed in physical therapy by NYSED with current registration
Bachelor's Degree in physical therapy from accredited university or college

Nice To Haves

Experience treating children with I/DD preferred.

Responsibilities

Evaluate, assess, or screen clients using appropriate standardized testing and clinical observational skills
Provide physical therapy services according to mandated paperwork (i.e. IEP’s, IFSP, etc.)
Provide required documentation for services that your program and/or supervisor have outlined for you.
Maintain documentation in a professional, efficient, accountable, and confidential manner.
Attend all meetings as scheduled and collaborate with other professionals, staff and families.
Maintain and update professional knowledge, skills and abilities through continuing education, in-service training or higher education.
Evaluate, fit, and adjust prosthetic, orthotic and adaptive equipment devices.
Consult with equipment technicians, physicians or others related to the clients needs
