Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school for physical therapist assistant required.
• Must be licensed by the State of Ohio as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
• CPR certified.
• Ability to perform therapy treatments in accordance with the established plan of care.
• Ability to communicate effectively with supervising physical therapist, patients, physicians, and staff.
• Ability to delegate appropriate treatment activities to supportive personnel.
• Knowledge of and ability to use therapy equipment.
• Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, documentation in electronic medical records.
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to multitask.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the provision of physical therapy treatments under the supervision of a physical therapist.
• Provide patient education and instruction.
• Keep the physical therapist updated on patient progress and response to treatment.
• Document patient information in the electronic medical record.
• Manage day-to-day patient scheduling.
• Consult with physicians, physical therapists, and other team members.
• Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) activities.
• Engage in clinical education and guest relations.
• Handle billing for patient services rendered and other assigned duties.
