About The Position
At OrthoCarolina, we are currently searching for a Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team at our Pineville Physical Therapy center location. The physical therapy assistant works in conjunction with a physical therapist to provide physical therapy modalities and treatments for orthopedic problems as prescribed by the referring physician. This role is essential in ensuring that patients receive the highest quality of care and support during their rehabilitation process. Under the direction of a physical therapist, the physical therapy assistant will apply various modalities including ultrasound, electrical stimulation, hot packs, whirlpool, traction, ice, paraffin, iontophoresis, and therapeutic massage. Following treatment programs established by the physical therapist, the assistant will administer exercise programs and procedures performed within the department, which include active and passive exercise, joint and soft tissue mobilization, and gait training. Additionally, the assistant will instruct patients in home exercise programs tailored to their specific diagnoses. Maintaining an orderly department is also a key responsibility, which includes cleaning treatment tables, whirlpools, and surrounding work areas, as well as stocking treatment areas with necessary linens and supplies. The physical therapy assistant will supervise patient exercise programs on Cybex equipment, isotonic and aerobic equipment, and will be responsible for writing daily progress notes and, when necessary, progress notes to the physicians.
