About The Position

Under supervision of the Physical Therapist, the Physical Therapy Assistant is responsible for provision of age-appropriate and culturally sensitive physical therapy care including treatments, modalities, patient education and instruction for Wellness Center and hospital inpatient clients. Duties are of great difficulty and are based on principles and standards of physical therapy practice. The Physical Therapy Assistant is responsible for completing all duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Completion of an Associate's degree physical therapist assistant program from an accredited school.
• Current license to practice as a Physical Therapy Assistant in the State of New Mexico.
• Current verification in Basic Life Support.

Nice To Haves

• One (1) year experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide age-appropriate and culturally sensitive physical therapy care.
• Administer treatments and modalities as directed by the Physical Therapist.
• Educate and instruct patients on physical therapy practices.
• Complete all assigned duties related to patient care.
