About The Position

This position is Outpatient at our Prairie Creek clinic location Work Shift Day Scheduled Weekly Hours 24 Summary This position supports Mercy's philosophy of patient centered care by providing compassionate and conscientious rehabilitation services to help patients improve their quality of life and functional capacity, under the direction of a Physical Therapist. Job Description Job Duties Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist provides physical therapy services to patients ensuring quality of care as evidenced in the clinical record. Coordinates patient care with other clinical team members ensuring optimal patient care and communication as evidenced in the clinical record. Completes all required paperwork following policies and procedures to ensure that documentation reflects care provided and the outcomes achieved as evidence in the clinical record. Maintains and enhances personal knowledge as well as promoting professional standards in physical therapy. Attends all required safety training and can describe his or her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, and specific job-related hazards. Follows Exposure Control Plans/Bloodborne and Airborne Pathogens. Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment. Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a team inter- and intra-departmentally to facilitate the department's ability to meet its goals and objectives. Follows Mercy's safety guidelines, carries out job-specific safety duties and responsibilities, and promptly reports any unsafe conditions, situations, incidents and injuries. Department Specific Duties Plaza - Clinician will be proficient in use of the Ultraviolet therapy booth – N/A. Plaza - Clinician will be proficient in safe use of Fitness Center equipment – N/A. Insures proper co-treat scheduling and communication with supervising Physical Therapist. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities In addition to the technical and professional skills required to provide excellent physical therapy to patients, clinician must possess good interpersonal skills, ability to motivate, and strong written and communication skills. Professional Experience One year of experience is preferred. Education Education sufficient to receive licensure in the state of Iowa Licensure, Certification, Registration Iowa State licensure required. Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), in accordance with the American Heart Association required. Iowa Dependent Adult Abuse/Iowa Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter training required. Employee must submit certification of completed training to Human Resources prior to start or transfer date. Requirements

  • In addition to the technical and professional skills required to provide excellent physical therapy to patients, clinician must possess good interpersonal skills, ability to motivate, and strong written and communication skills.
  • Education sufficient to receive licensure in the state of Iowa
  • Iowa State licensure required.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), in accordance with the American Heart Association required.
