About The Position
The Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant is responsible for treating assigned patients including obtaining accurate prescription, reviewing charts adequately and documenting according to departmental policy.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
- Three (3) internships/affiliations satisfactorily completed.
- Current PTA licensure by the Georgia State Board of Physical Therapy.
- Current AHA BLS certification.
- Must obtain and maintain required ortho education/training as mandated in the Houston Healthcare Joint Destination Center of Excellence Policy.
- Must obtain and maintain required stroke education/training as mandated in the Houston Healthcare Primary Stroke Center/Acute Stroke Ready Designation Policy.
- Utilizes a variety of therapy equipment to include ultrasound, electrical stimulation, whirlpool, iontophoresis, TEN's units, paraffin bath, fluidotherapy, Biodex, biofeedback, traction, and exercise equipment.
