About The Position

We are looking for a PTA who is available PRN during the weekday. We provide a flexible schedule and are in search of a PRN who can cover a few weekdays per month. Requirements

  • Availability during the weekday.
  • Graduate from an approved and accredited therapist program.
  • Sedentary tasks related to job – approximately 10% Physical tasks as listed – approximately 90%.
  • CPR certified.
  • Licensed by the State in the designated geographic area in his/her respective therapy profession.

Responsibilities

  • Helps with the maintenance and accuracy of records in regard to patient care for all patients on personal case load.
  • Responsible for the correct reporting of billing information of Physical Therapy in regard to all patients on personal case load.
  • Assists the Physical Therapist in carrying out procedures and programs.
  • Performs routine treatment procedures in accordance with the planned program.
  • Contributes to program planning and development in collaboration with a PT.
  • Observes, records and reports to their supervisor conditions, reactions and responses related to their assigned duties.
  • Reports any pertinent findings to the registered therapist.
  • Participate in development and presentation of in-services for the facility as requested.
  • Perform clinical functions: screens, following of treatment plans, and delivery of treatment in accordance with facility, Medicare, and policies and procedures.
  • Terminates services formulating discontinuation and follow-up plans when maximum benefit is received under the supervision of a PT.
  • Assist and assess transfers, gait and balance as required by functional mobility of patient level of assistance from minimum to maximum.
  • Participate in meetings regarding patient care as appropriate.
  • Assist when appropriate with any community education and public relations activities of the facility.
  • Maintains a high standard of resident care.
  • Responds immediately to all crisis and/or calls for assistance.
  • Actively participates in in-services, department meetings and continuing education. Communicates with patient’s physician/family as necessary regarding patient’s progress, treatments, etc., in consultation with the supervising Physical Therapist.
  • Responsible for the coordination and cooperation with other staff members in carrying out the treatment plan as established.
