Requirements
- Must be a graduate of a Physical Therapy Assistant school
- Must be licensed or registered in Virginia.
- Must have current CPR Certification
Nice To Haves
- One year of home health experience PLUS!
Responsibilities
- Provide direct physical therapy according to directions of a Physical Therapist and by the physician’s plan of care
- Direct and aid patient in active and passive therapeutic exercises, muscle reeducation, gait and functional training, transfer activities, and prosthetic training
- Utilize physical agents, including heat, cold, water, light, electricity, ultrasound, and massage
- Instruct in use of wheelchairs, braces, crutches, canes, and prosthetic or orthotic devices
- Observe and report to the physical therapist the patient’s reaction to treatment and any changes in condition
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal legal and regulatory requirements
- Additional responsibilities as assigned
