About The Position

We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team and support our mission of providing exceptional patient care. The Physical Therapy Assistant at SportsCare Physical Therapy is responsible for assisting licensed physical therapists in the evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of patients, with a particular focus on sports-related injuries. This role is essential in helping patients regain optimal function and mobility to return to their sports and physical activities.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assistance from an accredited program.
• State licensure or certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
• CPR certification.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and physical therapy principles.
• Experience in sports-related injury rehabilitation is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in conducting initial patient assessments, including gathering medical history and performing physical examinations.
• Collaborate with licensed physical therapists to develop customized treatment plans for patients based on their individual needs and goals.
• Administer therapeutic exercises, modalities, and manual therapy techniques as prescribed by the physical therapist to improve patients' mobility, strength, and pain management.
• Educate patients about their conditions, treatment plans, and home exercise programs to promote self-care and facilitate recovery.
• Continuously assess and document patient progress, making adjustments to treatment plans as necessary to ensure effective rehabilitation.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including treatment notes and progress reports, in compliance with legal and organizational requirements.
• Ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness of therapy equipment and tools.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team, including physical therapists, physicians, athletic trainers, and other staff, to provide comprehensive patient care.
• Adhere to all relevant legal and ethical standards, as well as clinic policies and procedures.
• Ensure a safe and hygienic environment for patients and staff, including adherence to infection control measures.
