About The Position

The position is for a full-time Physical Therapist Assistant who will perform treatments and provide exercise instruction, demonstration, and education for patients at an entry to intermediate skill level. The role involves carrying out exercise and treatment programs as determined by evaluations performed by the Physical Therapist, assisting during patient testing and evaluations, and coordinating physical therapy activities with the interdisciplinary team. The position requires compliance with regulations and involves training medical and nursing personnel in physical therapy techniques. The working hours are Monday to Thursday from 7 AM to 7 PM, Friday from 7 AM to 3 PM, with a Saturday requirement of 16 hours per quarter and holiday rotation. The role is eligible for a sign-on bonus and continuing education units (CEUs) are fully covered to support professional growth.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree Required
  • Less than 1 year of relevant experience
  • Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant upon hire
  • Basic Life Support certification upon hire
  • Graduate of an accredited physical therapist assistant program upon hire

Responsibilities

  • Carries out a program of exercise and treatment for assigned patients as determined by evaluation performed by the Physical Therapist.
  • Assists the Physical Therapist during patient testing, evaluations, and complex procedures according to APTA and PPTA regulations.
  • Coordinates physical therapy activities in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to achieve established goals.
  • Ensures compliance with regulations set forth by regulatory agencies and state governing bodies.
  • Conducts or participates in training medical and nursing personnel in physical therapy techniques and objectives.
  • Utilizes safe patient handling techniques for all patient transfers, lifts, and positioning.
  • Maintains patient records with accurate documentation to support medical necessity and functional ability.
  • Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.
  • Collaborates with team members to create a culture of patient-centeredness and clinical excellence.
  • Acts as a role model in compliance with hand hygiene and patient identifiers.
