Requirements

  • Licensure: Must hold a current and valid California Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) License.

Responsibilities

  • Direct Patient Care: Provide high-quality treatments as directed by the Physical Therapist and in accordance with physician-approved treatment plans.
  • Clinical Documentation: Maintain accurate daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes in compliance with PT Board standards and facility policies.
  • Collaborative Care: Communicate effectively with supervisors and the interdisciplinary healthcare team regarding resident progress, challenges, and discharge plans.
  • Leadership & Education: Assist the nursing department by training Restorative Aides and participating in facility-wide in-service training programs.
  • Discharge Readiness: Instruct residents’ families and nursing staff on maintenance programs and provide essential caregiver training to ensure a safe transition home.
  • Department Support: Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and functional treatment area and therapy department.
