About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our dynamic rehabilitation team. The PTA will provide high-quality care to patients across short-stay rehabilitation, outpatient therapy, skilled nursing care, and aquatic therapy. This role requires a professional who can implement treatment plans, motivate patients, and support their recovery while ensuring compliance with clinical standards and safety protocols.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • Current Nebraska PTA license in good standing.
  • CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Previous experience in short-stay rehab, outpatient, skilled care, or aquatic therapy preferred.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse patient population, including geriatric, post-surgical, and orthopedic patients.
  • Physical stamina to perform therapy exercises, assist patients, and lift up to 50 lbs as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in aquatic therapy or comfort working in pool environments.
  • Knowledge of rehabilitation equipment and adaptive devices.
  • Ability to motivate and encourage patients through recovery.

Responsibilities

  • Assist licensed Physical Therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans for patients in short-stay rehab, outpatient, skilled care, and aquatic therapy settings.
  • Conduct therapeutic exercises, functional activities, and mobility training under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.
  • Monitor and document patient progress, noting changes in physical function, pain levels, and mobility.
  • Ensure the safety and comfort of patients during therapy sessions, including proper use of equipment.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care plans and progress.
  • Educate patients and their families on exercises, proper body mechanics, and strategies to maintain function and prevent injury.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory standards, facility policies, and infection control protocols.
  • Support a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and patient-centered care.
