About The Position

Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) – PRN Oakwood Gardens Care Center Location: Fresno, CA Pay Rate: Starting at $42.00 per hour Status: PRN / Per Diem Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) General Purpose The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) assists the Physical Therapist with patient-related activities and provides direct patient care in accordance with physician orders and established treatment plans. This role supports high-quality rehabilitation services focused on improving residents’ functional outcomes and quality of life.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program
Proficient in electronic documentation systems (Casamba and PointClickCare preferred)
Current, active Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) license in the state
Maintain license in good standing and meet all continuing education requirements
Ability to read and understand technical procedures and policy manuals
Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
Ability to apply basic math concepts
Ability to solve practical problems and follow written and verbal instructions
Frequent standing, walking, reaching, pushing, and pulling
Ability to exert up to 50 pounds frequently and 100 pounds occasionally
Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
Frequent talking, hearing, tasting, and smelling
Visual abilities including close, distance, peripheral, color, and depth perception

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Provide treatment to patients as directed by the Physical Therapist
Record daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes in accordance with PT Board standards
Treat patients per the physician-approved plan of care
Participate in Patient Care and Rehabilitation Conferences as needed
Assist with maintaining and organizing the therapy department
Clean and maintain treatment areas and equipment
Communicate patient progress, problems, and plans with the supervising therapist and interdisciplinary team
Assist nursing staff with training of Restorative Aides as needed
Participate in facility in-service training programs
Document treatment changes per facility policy and procedures
Instruct patients, families, and caregivers on maintenance programs and discharge planning
Report equipment issues to ensure safe and proper operation
Maintain positive, professional relationships with residents, families, staff, and colleagues
