About The Position
The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) position at Spaulding Hospital is a per diem role that involves providing essential physical therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. The PTA will work with patients who have various impairments, functional limitations, or disabilities resulting from injuries, diseases, or other causes. This role requires collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care. The PTA will also be responsible for educating patients, families, and other stakeholders as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist. Effective coordination of technical, environmental, and financial resources is crucial to delivering high-quality care efficiently. In this role, the PTA will implement prescribed treatment programs according to established organizational and professional guidelines. The PTA must adapt measurement skills based on the patient's age, medical condition, and cultural background, ensuring that treatment is personalized and effective. Communication with the supervising Physical Therapist is vital to monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans, goals, and discharge needs accordingly. The PTA will also be responsible for maintaining accurate and timely documentation in compliance with facility and practice guidelines. Additionally, the PTA will play a key role in mentoring and training therapy and healthcare students, helping them achieve their performance expectations.
