About The Position

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) will support the Physical Therapist in delivering physical therapy treatments and procedures. This role involves assisting in the development of treatment plans, documenting patient progress, and modifying treatments based on patient status, all while adhering to state laws and regulations.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited Assistant Therapy Assistant Program.
• Possession of in-state licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
• At least 1 year of home health experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
• Strong caring interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver's license and clean DMV record.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Physical Therapist in providing physical therapy treatments and procedures.
• Help develop treatment plans in accordance with state laws.
• Carry out routine functions and document the progress of treatment.
• Modify specific treatments based on patient status and treatment plans.
• Administer manual physical exercises and instruct patients in non-manual exercises.
• Encourage and assist patients in ambulatory functional activities and daily-living activities.
• Assess and interpret evaluations and test results to determine treatment plans in consultation with physicians.
• Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements.
• Conduct follow-up visits for home health orthopedic patients.
