About The Position

This role is for a Physical Therapist Assistant in the Inpatient Rehabilitation department at Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital Pensacola, located in Pensacola, FL. The position is PRN (as needed). A new facility is scheduled to open in July 2026, dedicated to providing continuous care for patients recovering from strokes, trauma, and other major injuries. Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) credentialed from the Florida Board of Physical Therapy Practice prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

Conduct medically prescribed physical therapy under the supervision of a physical therapist.
Provide physical therapy interventions under a plan of care written by a physical therapist.
Perform therapy interventions utilizing techniques and skills as appropriate for the patient population.
Document treatment interventions given.
May coordinate activities of physical therapy aides, students and other support personnel.
