The position involves evaluating patients within twenty-four (24) hours of physician referral and developing effective treatment plans. If unable to complete evaluations in the specified time, documentation must clearly define the cause for delay. The role includes treating patients according to the physician's treatment plan, assisting the nursing department with training Restorative Aides, and supervising Physical Therapy Assistants in direct patient care. Communication with supervisors and health team members regarding patient progress is essential, as well as participation in various conferences and training programs. The position also requires recording evaluations and treatment notes in compliance with state practice acts and payer requirements, instructing families and nursing staff, and participating in discharge planning.
