About The Position

The Physical Therapy Aide works under the direction of a Physical Therapist and/or Occupational Therapist, to assist in the treatment of patients. The Physical Therapy Aide works under the direction of the departments ASA to provide office reception, clerical duties and general support for therapy services.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree in health related field - required
• Clerical experience - required
• Medical/nursing assistant background helpful.
• BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire - required

Responsibilities

• Assists the occupational and physical therapy staff as needed
• Assists with patient treatment for selected patients under the supervision of an occupational or physical therapist
• Transports patients within the department, units and therapy areas
• Monitors, orders and restocks linens and med/surg supplies for the department
• Promotes and contributes to all sanitary and housekeeping policies which are designed to maintain the cleanliness of all clinic and staff areas
• Performs general maintenance, repair, cleaning and distribution of department DME
• Maintains departments regulatory compliance logs within the departments
• Assists with department billing as needed
• Maintains department response time and provides monthly report
• Manages PT rehab schedule and update patients’ schedules in rooms on rehab
