About The Position

Opportunity to join a dynamic physical therapy team working across a variety of medical and surgical units. Looking for candidates who are open to working alternative schedules and are excited to develop and work with a team of motivated therapists. UVA offers many opportunities to work as multi-disciplinary team to provide the best patient care and experience. These roles focus on helping patients recover from injuries, illnesses, or surgeries and improve their physical, emotional, and functional well-being. Involves assessing, planning, and providing therapeutic interventions to enhance patients' abilities to perform daily activities and achieve their rehabilitation goals. These roles are responsible for improving patient mobility, strength, and function through exercise, manual therapy, and education. Physical therapists work with patients recovering from injuries or surgeries, those with chronic conditions, or those seeking to enhance physical performance and reduce pain. Individual contributors with responsibility in a clinical discipline or specialty. Typically involves diagnosing, treating, and caring for patients, and often include face-to-face interactions with patients. May also spend some time designing and implementing clinical programs, policies, and services using specialized knowledge and skills. Specialty license or certification required which is acquired through advanced education, training and/or experience. This career stream will be most commonly applied to patient care and/or scientific/laboratory technologist jobs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy
  • No experience required.
  • Licensed to practice in Physical Therapy in the Commonwealth of Virginia. New grads must be licensed within 6 months of hire.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
  • Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping/traveling.
  • Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to write legibly
  • Ability to lift/push/pull 20 – 50lbs.
  • May be exposed to blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
