About The Position

We're excited to offer a $5,000 sign-on bonus for qualified Per Diem Physical Therapists with acute care experience joining our inpatient team at Saint Francis and St. Mary's Hospitals within the Rehabilitation Services Department. This is an inpatient position within Saint Francis/St. Mary's Hospitals' Rehabilitation Services Department. The Per Diem Physical Therapist reports to the Clinical Supervisor and provides both direct and indirect patient care services. This role primarily serves adult and geriatric patients from diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. Therapists with pediatric competencies and clinical experience may also treat infants, children, and/or adolescents. Under general direction and upon receipt of licensed approved provider written referrals, the Per Diem Physical Therapist plans and administers a full range of physical therapy services for patients with various physical and cognitive impairments and disabilities. These services include: Patient evaluations using physical therapy tests and measurements Establishment of therapeutic intervention goals Development and implementation of individualized therapeutic programs using evidence-based interventions, modalities, and procedures The Per Diem Physical Therapist maintains all applicable patient care documentation and may supervise support personnel, including Physical Therapist Assistants and Rehabilitation Aides. As part of the clinical care team, this role also contributes to department-wide initiatives related to compliance, quality, safety, and continuous process improvement. Schedule Requirements: Minimum of two (2) weekend day shifts per month One (1) major and one (1) minor Winter UC Holiday (e.g., Thanksgiving/Day After, Dec 24/25, Dec 31/Jan 1) The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role. Requirements

  • DPT Doctoral graduate degree.
  • o If graduated 15 or more years ago, a bachelor's degree
  • Minimum one year of licensed practice experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to recognize signs of distress.
  • Basic computer skills including work within Epic electronic medical record.
  • Possession of good interpersonal, time management, problem solving and self-initiation skills.
  • This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience providing patient care in acute care hospital and acute rehab/IRF patient care setting.
