About The Position

The therapist must be a graduate of an accredited school of physical therapy and holder of a current permanent or temporary license from the Indiana Medical Licensing Board. An Associate in this position may provide direct patient care for neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and/or geriatric patients through the Rehabilitation Services department. Evaluation and treatment as well as documentation of patient progress is required as well as the ability to communicate with patients, family, physicians and hospital associates. Supervision of students, physical therapist assistants and monitoring of rehabilitation technicians is also required. In addition, the associate must adhere to established organizational and departmental policies and safety guidelines and possess problem solving abilities, excellent customer service skills and Patient First characteristics. The associate must assist in maintaining a safe working environment throughout the facility and be available for on-call and call-back responsibilities, as required.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of physical therapy.
  • Current permanent or temporary license from the Indiana Medical Licensing Board.
  • Certification in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
  • Ability to communicate and comprehend the English language.
  • Keyboarding skills for computer documentation.
  • Knowledge of the healthcare system and the role of the physical therapist.

  • Knowledge of therapeutic techniques and trends in Physical Therapy.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care for neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and/or geriatric patients.
  • Evaluate and treat inpatients and outpatients.
  • Document patient progress and treatment in compliance with state, federal, and facility guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and hospital associates.
  • Supervise students and physical therapist assistants.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and activities.
  • Educate patients and families on rehabilitation processes and techniques.
  • Promote the Rehab department within the medical community and the community at large.
