About The Position

The Department of Physical Therapy is currently seeking a full time Physical Therapist 1 to work in Miami, FL. The Physical Therapist I provides physical therapy and wellness services to patients and clients who have impairments, functional disabilities, or changes in physical function and health status resulting from injury, disease or other causes. Moreover, this employee helps patients and clients restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities. The Physical Therapist I collaborates with healthcare teams that include physicians, occupational therapists, and psychologists.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in relevant field
  • Certification in relevant specialty or field
  • No experience required
  • Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
  • Commitment to the University’s core values.
  • Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
  • Licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state of Florida

Nice To Haves

  • Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy preferred

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates new patients, establishes goals, and develops appropriate treatment plans.
  • Documents all evaluations, treatments, and other pertinent patient interactions daily.
  • Educates patients and families regarding medical conditions and provides instructions for home activities.
  • Communicates with physicians and their staff to obtain necessary information and suggests revisions in treatment.
  • Utilizes treatment tools and equipment in a safe and effective manner.
  • Maintains a satisfactory level of productivity and demonstrates willingness to adjust personal schedule in case of crisis or real clinic need.
  • Participates in quality and safety improvement activities.
  • Orients, instructs, and directs work activities for assistants and support personnel.
  • Utilizes appropriate methods and materials for learning programs, monitors effectiveness, and adapts programs accordingly.
  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
  • Demonstrates punctuality, reliability, and accountability in daily responsibilities.
  • Maintains respectful and professional communication with patients, families, and team members.
  • Accepts feedback constructively and seeks guidance when needed.
  • Aligns with organizational goals and directives
  • Adheres to institutional policies, ethical standards, and patient confidentiality.
  • Displays a positive attitude and willingness to learn in a team environment.
  • Achieves the annually established baseline level for productivity and demonstrates willingness to adjust personal schedule in case of crisis or clinic need.
  • Completes comprehensive, timely, and accurate documentation that meets organizational, regulatory and institutional standards.
