Conducts medically prescribed physical therapy under the supervision of a physical therapist. Provides physical therapy interventions under a plan of care written by a physical therapist. Performs therapy interventions utilizing techniques and skills as appropriate for the patient population. Documents treatment interventions given. May coordinate activities of physical therapy aides, students and other support personnel.

  • Attends and participates in department meetings and is accountable for all information shared.
  • Completes mandatory education, annual competencies and department specific education within established timeframes.
  • Completes annual employee health requirements within established timeframes.
  • Maintains license/certification, registration in good standing throughout fiscal year.
  • Direct patient care providers are required to maintain current BCLS (CPR) and other certifications as required by position/department.
  • Consistently utilizes appropriate universal precautions, protective equipment, and ergonomic techniques to protect patient and self.
  • Adheres to regulatory agency requirements, survey process and compliance.
  • Complies with established organization and department policies.
  • Available to work overtime in addition to working additional or other shifts and schedules when required.
  • Serves as a Clinical Instructor for Therapy Students as requested by Departmental Leadership.
  • LIC BLS Provider Required: Yes
  • Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) credentialed from the Michigan Board of Physical Therapy prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • LIC Rehab Therapist Required: Yes
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience.
  • Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
