About The Position

The Physical Security Systems Technician at Salem Health is responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of security systems within the healthcare environment. This role ensures the seamless operation of security equipment, contributes to the overall security of the facility, and plays a key role in mentoring apprentices in the department.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • A minimum of three (3) years in security system inspection and servicing.
  • LEA electrician license required.
  • Valid driver's license compliant with Salem Health's Fleet Safety Program policy; 2-years Driving History.
  • DPSST unarmed certification or ability to secure within three (3) months from date of hire.
  • Good knowledge of healthcare facility systems and security devices.
  • Familiarity with standard methodologies and tools for security systems.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work cohesively within a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in healthcare settings is desirable.
  • Lenel Certification is preferred.
  • Technical training or certifications in security systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain security system devices to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Support the commissioning of new setups while adhering to Salem Health's standards.
  • Assist in adapting information systems based on user needs and feedback.
  • Collaborate with the Technician Lead to reinforce training for apprentices.
  • Maintain and monitor systems like Totguard infant abduction system, Milestone camera surveillance system, Lenel access control system, and Genetec LPR system.
  • Provide support during software upgrades and roll-outs.
  • Handle installation, troubleshooting, and servicing of essential components like door access readers and surveillance cameras.
  • Assist with communication wiring tasks, ensuring efficiency and organization.
  • Maintain logs of activities and update device data as required.
  • Record keeping of Preventative Maintenance and Corrective Maintenance.
  • Process requests for security systems and redact case reports to protect PHI.
  • Support the Technician Lead in responding to emergency system alerts and collaborate with relevant stakeholders in emergencies.
