About The Position

The Physical Security System Administrator specializing in CCTV, Access Control, and Alarms, is responsible for managing and overseeing the physical security infrastructure of the University of Arkansas. This includes the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of all security systems, ensuring the highest levels of protection for physical assets, personnel, and sensitive areas. The individual will work closely with internal teams, University IT Services, security staff, and external vendors to ensure compliance with security policies, procedures, and industry best practices. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher learning
  • Minimum of five years of experience in security operations, with a focus on CCTV, access control, alarm systems, and key management
  • Proven track record of partnering with others on physical security teams and systems or collaborating with other internal partners, particularly in high-security environments
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to travel as needed
  • In-depth knowledge of CCTV, access control, and alarm systems
  • Proficient with physical security management software and tools, including CCTV platforms, access control software, and alarm monitoring systems
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to respond quickly to security incidents
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to train and mentor team members effectively
  • High attention to detail and an ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Must be flexible and adaptable to changing security needs and circumstances

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in security management, Criminal Justice, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of security technologies and the ability to provide credible guidance on integrating multiple systems effectively
  • Relevant certifications in physical security systems (e.g., CPP, PSP, or similar) are highly desirable
