About The Position

The Physical Security Field Representative is the primary point of contact for all physical security and compliance related issues within the service territory. The Physical Security Field Representative travels throughout the operating footprint to ensure compliance to corporate and regulatory standards, works with all levels of management as appropriate, liaises with federal, state, and local law enforcement, responds to & investigates all physical security related incidents & investigations, and develops threat & risk assessments and implements appropriate mitigation strategy plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline is preferred, along with a minimum of 4 years professional work experience required
  • In lieu of a degree, 7 years professional work experience required
  • Experience in facilitating creative problem-solving sessions
  • Demonstrate strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to write & present general and training communications
  • Ability to write and follow work plans
  • Ability to research, analyze, and resolve access concerns independently
  • Ability to work with cross functional groups
  • Commitment to providing quality service and deliverables in a timely manner
  • Demonstrate strong time management skills
  • Must be able to multitask during emergency & normal operational situations and can change priorities as needed

  • 100% travel required to FE locations within service territory areas, could include overnight stays

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring effective regulatory compliance to the North American Reliability Corporation (NERC) Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Standards by providing guidance to support and enhance operational business unit’s risk management, cyber, information, physical, and personnel security programs
  • Maintaining and developing FE compliance policies, programs, procedures, and guidelines related to the NERC CIP Standards and to physical security best practices
  • Developing and implementing physical security threat & risk assessments with appropriate mitigation plans to ensure compliance with NERC CIP standards
  • Preparing for, coordinating, and supporting compliance audits conducted by internal resources, consultants, or regulatory organizations
  • Working with responsible FE organizations to coordinate resolving physical security technology issues, developing improvement recommendations, and creating mitigation plans
  • Investigating and documenting root cause analysis to submit potential violations to FERC Compliance and ensuring they are tracked for timely resolution and fully documented in auditable records
  • Utilizing FE compliance technology (RAAD, ProWatch, Salto) to assign, track, and monitor compliance efforts
  • Conducting physical security investigations, incident, threat, and compliance reports as appropriate – summarizing the investigations, details, interviews, key findings, and recommendations to be made
  • Developing, implementing, and monitoring Corporate Security policies and procedures
  • Performing physical security assessments to identify risks to security and compliance, while working with local management and the Physical Security Technology group to propose remediation activities
  • Escorting security technology vendors performing maintenance and installation of equipment, as needed
  • Escorting visitors who do not have authorized unescorted access to CIP locations, as needed
  • Operating as the regional entity and single point of contact for all security and compliance related issues, including implementation of resolution for security issues
  • Liaising with federal, state, and local enforcement agencies, as needed
  • 100% travel to FE locations within service territory areas, could include overnight stays
