About The Position

This Physical Security Engineer 3 is responsible for independently designing and overseeing the implementation and ongoing maintenance of the physical security program. The Physical Security Engineer 3 will manage physical security processes that include badge systems, access control, and video management systems (CCTV).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in associated field.
  • 6+ years of experience.
  • Extensive understanding of and experience with physical security software solutions such as Genetec, Lenel, Milestone Video, Axis, Hanwha, Cisco, and others.
  • Experience with configuration and installation of Video Management Systems, Access Control Systems, Badging Systems, and Visitor Management Systems.
  • Video Analytics experience.
  • AutoCAD and Bluebeam experience.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with physical security technologies including badge systems, access control, door hardware, alarms, video management (including Analog and IP).
  • Ability to design security technology solutions, including security CCTV design.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong IT, electronic, and mechanical skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with business partners/vendors in a professional manner.
  • Ability to work and make decisions independently, while consistently exercising good judgment in reaching solutions.
  • General understanding of and experience working with electrical circuits.
  • Ability to validate completion of tasks on punch list and delivery of quality work by third-party installers.
  • Knowledge of industry storage technologies.
  • Ability to facilitate processes resulting in timely delivery of negotiated, effective vendor contracts and statements of work.
  • Experience budgeting for new projects and new stores.
  • Mentoring and training other physical security engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Designs and oversees implementation of physical security equipment including badge, access control, burglar alarm, and video management systems.
  • Leads the development and negotiation processes in all vendor contract-related matters including project proposals, vendor selection, statement of work, and bids.
  • Ensure proper quality assurance controls are in place to verify all work performed under contract by third parties.
  • Designs physical security technology solutions.
  • Defines bid hardware / software specifications for physical security projects, including those supporting new retail stores and distribution centers.
  • Research industry trends and best practices; continuously develop the skills and knowledge necessary to implement effective physical security solutions.
  • Collaborate and build relationships with key stakeholders in business units to ensure that delivered solutions are aligned with business objectives.
  • Reviews and approves Standard Operating Procedures for all physical security equipment and software solutions.
  • Analyzes issues and determines root cause.
  • Completes accurate, timely, and comprehensive reports relative to physical security.
