Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical or maintenance training preferred.
  • Experience in building maintenance; assisted living or long-term care experience a plus.
  • Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general mechanical systems.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead and supervise staff and coordinate vendor work.
  • Basic computer skills for tracking maintenance and repairs.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and respond to after-hours emergencies.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical or maintenance training preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all building, equipment, and grounds maintenance to ensure a safe, efficient, and well-kept community environment.
  • Perform and assign preventive maintenance tasks weekly, monthly, and annually for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment, ensuring compliance with all safety and code standards.
  • Supervise and schedule housekeeping and maintenance staff, vendors, and contractors; ensure timely completion and quality of work.
  • Manage maintenance budgets, inventory, and records using internal tracking systems (e.g., TELs).
  • Respond to after-hours emergencies such as power loss, system breakdowns, or safety incidents.
  • Maintain community cleanliness and curb appeal—including landscaping, snow removal, and common area upkeep.
  • Assist residents with minor repairs and moving furniture as needed.
  • Coordinate inspections and compliance with health, fire, and safety regulations.
  • Participate in strategic planning for property updates and renovations.
