About The Position

Functions as a lead level HA and performs HA duties, assigned to a specific non-patient unit area at a state mental health hospital.

Must pass a pre-employment background check (which includes criminal records check, driver's history, and verification of work history) and a post-hire federal background investigation.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test and will be placed in the pool for the State Random Drug Testing Program.
Eligible to work in the U.S.
Able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
High School and College Degrees Must Be From an Accredited Institution

Experience working in a psychiatric setting with adults clients
Experience working in a maximum security adult forensic setting
Experience with Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy equipment, and individuals requiring this specialized therapy.
One (1) year experience as an Health Aide 3

Acts as resource/may mentor lower-level staff.
Perform job responsibilities with minimal supervision.
Serve as job expert or organization resource in assigned areas.
May supervise and/or direct the work of others.
Answer clients' call signals.
Assist in administration of medications and treatments, takes vital signs, and/or draws blood or collects other bodily fluids, as directed by a physician or nurse.
Bathe, groom, shave and dress clients.
Conduct activities for recreation and socialization.
Ensure safety and security of clients.
Feed clients who are unable to feed themselves.
Implement assigned parts of client individualized treatment and behavior management plans.
