About The Position

The California Children's Services (CCS) section of the Department of Public Health (DPH) is seeking Occupational and Physical Therapists. Therapists will be responsible for planning, implementing, and conducting individual therapy programs for the physical rehabilitation of children. Duties include engaging in the provision of team-centered care, consulting with various professional agencies, planning and implementing therapy programs for children with neurological and/or orthopedic impairments after analyzing a child's medical history under the direction of a physician, evaluating patients' progress and developing treatment changes, administering tests to determine functional ability, physical limitations, rehabilitation potential, and equipment needs, determining durable medical equipment needs and providing instruction regarding appropriate usage, planning and providing instruction on home and classroom programs and durable medical equipment to parents and teachers, and planning and directing group activities. Assignment location for Pediatric Rehabilitation Therapists exists throughout San Bernardino County, with immediate vacancies in Colton, Fontana, and Hesperia. The eligible list established may be used to fill current and future vacancies across multiple locations. Candidates should indicate on their application all locations they are willing to accept employment.

Requirements

  • Possess and maintain a valid license as a Physical Therapist issued by the Physical Therapy Board of California (PTBC) or a valid license as an Occupational Therapist issued by the California Board of Occupational Therapy (BOT).
  • One or more years of full-time equivalent experience as a licensed Physical or Occupational Therapist.

  • Fluency in American Sign Language, Arabic, Korean, Mandarin, Spanish, and/or Vietnamese.

Responsibilities
