About The Position

This position assists therapists and therapist assistants with patient transport, lifting, transferring, and treatment. The aide also helps conduct general patient activity programs under supervision and is responsible for maintaining equipment, supplies, and facilities. The role reports to the Assistant Director, Clinical Coordinator, and/or Senior Rehab Technician.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent
Employee must demonstrate ability to recognize patients' individual needs based on medical conditions, age (infants, pediatrics, adolescents, young adults, middle-aged and geriatric), limitations and planned procedures.

Nice To Haves

Prior training or experience in related environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance and safety.
Transports patients to/from therapy programs appropriately considering the patient's age, diagnosis and physical and mental limitations.
Assists in conducting specified treatment activities; observes patients in treatment activities and reports observations to therapists/therapist assistants.
Prepares treatment areas, patients and equipment for treatments.
Provides assistance to professional staff as needed during patient evaluations and treatments.
Assures that department is clean, neat and orderly.
Performs tech duties in assigned areas.
Labels defective equipment; completes assigned maintenance duties.
Orders and maintains established levels of supplies.
Performs clerical duties such as filing, errands and answering the telephone upon request.
Attends meetings as required.
Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings.
Performs other duties as assigned or requested to enhance the department.
