About The Position

The Physical Facilities Assistant Manager at Associated Food Stores, Inc. plays a crucial role in overseeing the maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment across Salt Lake and Corporate locations. Requirements

  • Knowledge of carpentry, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing trade skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in basic office suite programs (e.g., Outlook, Teams, spreadsheets, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to interpret CADD drawings.
  • Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • 2 years of trades training or equivalent preferred.
  • 4 years of job-related experience preferred.

  • Experience in project management and contract negotiation.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Direct maintenance, forklift repair, and sanitation team members in facility care and maintenance.
  • Aid in the maintenance and repair of buildings, electrical systems, HVAC systems, refrigeration systems, and plumbing systems.
  • Manage bidding and project management for minor capital improvements.
  • Design and draw warehouse racking layouts and office remodels.
  • Oversee sanitation operations in the grocery warehouse.
  • Forecast annual expenses and major repairs for all facilities and assist in the annual budget process.
  • Direct and oversee bids and contracts for third-party services such as janitorial services and waste disposal.
  • Participate in project design and recommend best approaches based on experience and project costs.
  • Analyze and assess equipment and system replacement versus repair.
  • React quickly to emergency situations to restore warehouse operations.
