About The Position

The Bridgeport Public Schools is seeking a Physical Education Teacher for the 2025 - 2026 school year at Black Rock School. This position is part-time, requiring 2.5 days of work per week, and offers a salary range from $50,825.00 to $105,070.00 based on the BA - 6th Year step. The role involves establishing instructional goals, designing lessons, maintaining behavior standards, and committing to professional development. Requirements

• Required certification: Physical Education (044), PK-12.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Three years' successful teaching experience in an urban setting preferred.
• Experience in the use of educational technology.
• Excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills.

Responsibilities

• Establishes and adjusts instructional goals and objectives to reflect district/school goals and student needs.
• Designs lessons that promote problem-solving, creativity, and communication skills.
• Maintains standards for behavior that foster student self-discipline and positive relationships.
• Commits to ongoing professional development in content area and pedagogy.
• Plans learning activities to address individual differences among students.
• Develops, administers, and evaluates quality formative and summative assessments.
• Monitors and evaluates students' progress in relation to curriculum and planned goals.
• Encourages and maintains the involvement of parents and community members in support of instruction.
• Involves parents in the assessment of their children's progress and needs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
