About The Position

The Physical Education Teacher position at O'READY involves providing professional-level instruction to elementary school students in physical education. The role requires developing and implementing a student activities program that promotes leadership skills and active participation, while also maintaining classroom discipline and ensuring student safety. This part-time position is available immediately and requires a commitment of 20 hours per week, with a focus on students aged 5 to 13 years.

Requirements

• Teaching Certification (from any 50 US states) with P.E. Endorsement or Certificate of completion in a P.E. education program with teaching experience for children.
• Minimum two years prior experience in physical education instruction or related field to children.
• Valid Driver License.
• Bachelor's degree in education or related field or State certification in P.E.
• Working knowledge of processes, policies, and practices for safety, health, and welfare of students.
• Ability to obtain and maintain State Teacher Certification for Physical Education and endorsement for Elementary.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in physical education teaching (1 year preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction at the professional level using a variety of skills and teaching techniques for Kindergarten through Eighth grade.
• Develop and implement a student activities program that aligns with assessed student and program needs.
• Facilitate the growth of leadership skills and offer opportunities for active student participation.
• Develop annual instructional outlines and corresponding daily lesson plans encompassing relevant study units.
• Instruct students through the careful selection, development, adaptation, and implementation of suitable instructional approaches and techniques.
• Continuously assess the academic progress of both individuals and groups.
• Maintain classroom discipline and independently manage behavioral issues.
• Oversee assigned students during scheduled hours and ensure their supervision throughout the academic day and related activities.
