City College of San Francisco is the one of the region's premier public, two-year community colleges dedicated to serving minority and undocumented students and those new to this country. It resides on the unceded ancestral homeland of the Ramaytush Ohlone who are the original inhabitants of the San Francisco Peninsula. Since its founding in 1935, City College has evolved into a multicultural, multi-campus community college that is one of the largest single-college districts in the country. Enrolling over 40,000 students, it offers credit and non-credit instruction and more than 300250 degrees and certificates. City College is one of the first in the nation to offer free tuition, providing San Franciscans with the opportunity to access quality college education and work force training leading to university transfer and good jobs.
