Our educators and specialists use the unique Daily Life Therapy® methodology to inspire hope, foster resilience, and open doors to brighter futures through movement, structure, and compassion. Position Summary: The Residential Physical Education Activity Leader designs and delivers engaging physical education and activity programs that nurture students’ mind–body development within our dual Day and Residential environments. This position plays a key role in creating a consistent and supportive experience for each student, encouraging them to achieve both personal and group goals. Hours: School Year: Monday–Friday, 1:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m. (217-day school schedule) Vacation Program (approx. 8 weeks per year): Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:15 p.m.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (required)
  • Experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum (preferred)
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Flexibility for occasional weekends or holiday shifts

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Familiarity with Daily Life Therapy® (training provided)
  • Ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse team environment

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement individualized physical education and activity programs aligned with student IEP goals and Daily Life Therapy® principles.
  • Participate in all student activities, modeling fitness and engagement through daily physical exercise (e.g., jogging 1–3 miles).
  • Create meaningful lessons that integrate physical, emotional, and social development.
  • Collaborate with classroom and residential staff to maintain consistency across all learning environments.
  • Support students’ behavioral, vocational, and life skill development through structured, purposeful activity.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and school districts to share progress and celebrate student growth.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training related to Daily Life Therapy® and physical education methodologies.
  • Maintain compliance with all student safety, confidentiality, and professional guidelines.
