About The Position

Amentum is a trusted partner to United States government agencies, allied governments, and corporations worldwide and we are looking for you to support our Strategic Microelectronics program as a Physical Analysis Test Lab Technician. You might be just who we are looking for! This position will be responsible for the testing and analysis of high reliability, radiation hardened, trusted microelectronic components used in various strategic systems throughout the DoW. In this position, the incumbent will be responsible for analysis and testing of electronic components to include, test interface hardware, setting up test circuit schematics, using software code to control automated test equipment (ATE), aid engineers in test procedure development, and other various duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Vocational/technical training beyond high school in electronics or related field
  • Hands-on experience with handling and testing small parts, such as microelectronics (Good hand dexterity, hand-eye coordination, good “fine motor control” with hands)
  • Possess knowledge and understanding of basic electronics and common electronic assembly components and their use. (diodes, capacitors, resistors, transformers, integrated circuits, inductors, etc.)
  • Understanding and utilization of laboratory safety practices, including chemical safety and must be comfortable working with and around Hazardous Materials/Chemicals.
  • Ability to engage with a multidisciplinary team of technicians, scientists, and engineers
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong written communication skills, organizational skills, and the ability to perform detail-oriented work are required.
  • Ability to identify and support opportunities for process improvements through fixture design and integrating new techniques
  • Mechanical Aptitude/Mechanically Inclined: broad knowledge of “how things work”. Machines, mechanical movement, etc.
  • Familiarity and competency with power tools (drill press, power hand-drill, bandsaw, table saw, sanders/grinders)
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Clearance.
  • Please note US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • 2-year or 4-year degree in Electronics Technology or Electronics Engineering Technology
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience in laboratory environments, including operation of microscopes and other analytical equipment
  • Basic knowledge of microelectronic construction and materials
  • Basic knowledge of techniques for failure or material analysis of microelectronics
  • Problem Solving/Troubleshooting: figuring out how something works, why something doesn’t work, or how to improve an existing task/step, fixture, method etc..
