Position Summary: The incumbent performs a variety of skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled tasks in the maintenance, repair, and alteration of utilities, buildings, and related medical facilities and equipment with emphasis on patient safety, resiliency, and with the understanding that their role is critical to the function of the operations of medical center operations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, basic HVAC, electrical, plumbing, structural work, and specialty medical equipment such as piped medical gas systems, patient entertainment systems, radiological and imaging support equipment, and other hospital and medical support equipment with specific duties varying based on work assignments. This position requires a basic understanding of the CMS physical environment standards, Joint Commission and CDPH regulations, and infection prevention protocols critical for ensuring patient, coworker, and occupant safety and comfort in the clinical setting. The incumbent must also demonstrate attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintaining compliance with healthcare facility codes and ensuring a safe, functional, and efficient environment in support of patient care.
